CWC welcomes new director MARGARETVILLE, NY, April 26, 2006 - Tom Hynes, Supervisor of the Town of Roxbury, is the newest member of the Board of Directors of the Catskill Watershed Corporation. Mr. Hynes’ election by fellow Supervisors of Delaware County Watershed Towns was announced at the CWC’s Annual Meeting April 25 in Margaretville. He fills a seat previously occupied by Joe Hanley of Walton. Martin Donnelly, Supervisor of the Town of Andes, and James Eisel, Supervisor of the Town of Harpersfield, were re-elected to their Board seats. All three will serve four-year terms. They are among six Delaware County representatives on the 15-member CWC Board. The other three Delaware County seats come up for election in 2008. Current officers of the Board were re-elected: Perry Shelton of Tompkins is President, Ward Todd of Shandaken is First Vice President, Michael Flaherty of Jewett is Second Vice President, Charles Buck of Jefferson is Secretary and Georgianna Lepke of Neversink is Treasurer. Board members and about 30 other people attending the Annual Meeting heard a presentation by CWC staff members on program achievements over the past year. Several 2005 milestones were noted: The number of residential septic systems repaired or replaced through December 31, 2005 surpassed 2,000 and CWC technical staff interviewed more than 500 homeowners during the year. Low-interest loans to Watershed businesses since 1998 exceeded the $20 million mark, and Watershed Education grants to schools and non-profit organizations over the past eight years eclipsed the $1 million threshold.
