Watercolor exhibit at CWC MMARGARETVILLE, NY, October 20, 2006 - A selection of watercolor paintings by Ulster County artist Ralph Persons is on view at the Catskill Watershed Corporation offices in Margaretville through the end of the year. The 14 watercolors depict landscapes and waterways found throughout the region, from Dry Brook near Arkville in Delaware County, to Neversink in Sullivan County. They can be seen weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the CWC, 905 main Street, Margaretville. Persons, who works from Eagle’s Nest Studio in Pine Hill, is a master at conveying the subtle beauty of the Catskills in all seasons. He focused on art and interior design at Russel Sage College and later studied watercolor art at John Pike’s Watercolor School in Woodstock, and with W. B. Romeling at Cooperstown Art Society. Ralph has served on the Board of Directors of the Albany Artists Group, and the Schenectady Art Society. He has taught watercolor art at Pine Hill, at the Sunflower Art Center in Round Lake, the Harmonus Bleeker Center in Albany, the Adult Education Program at South Colonie School District, the Appalachian Mountain Club in Oliverea, and for Elderhostel at Frost Valley YMCA. The award-winning artist has 36 one-person shows to his credit. His work is in the collections of General Electric, New York Telephone and many private individuals.
