Reservoir fishing day planned

MARGARETVILLE, N.Y., June 12, 2007 - A family fishing day has been scheduled for Saturday, June 21 from 11 to 3 at the Cannonsville Reservoir, hosted by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the Catskill Watershed Corporation (CWC).

The Take Your Kid Fishing Day gathering point will be at the parking area with the reservoir information kiosk near the Cannonsville Bridge on Route 10, seven miles north of Deposit, and 17 miles south of Walton.

Rod and tackle will be available and volunteers will be on hand to offer assistance to new anglers. Prizes for the largest catches will be awarded.

Bait will be provided by Gifford’s Sports Supply of Walton, and the CWC will offer free refreshments.

Adults will be required to have a New York State fishing license, however New York City Access Permits will not be required for this event.
