Special meeting of CWC member towns Feb. 3

MARGARETVILLE, NY, Jan. 26, 2009 - Representatives of member towns of the Catskill Watershed Corporation are invited to a meeting February 3at 1 p.m. at CWC offices in Margaretville to vote on changes to the CWC’s By-Laws.

The CWC, which is considered a local authority, is obliged to comply with recent amendments to the NYS Public Authorities law and so must revise its By-Laws. Changes include a provision that no Director or Board President shall serve as Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director, Chief Financial Officer, Comptroller or equivalent position while serving as a member of the Board of Directors.

The By-Laws must also provide for Audit and Governance Committees.

Town Supervisors are being asked to vote on these amendments and may do so in person or by proxy at the February 3 meeting which coincides with the regular monthly meeting of the CWC Board.

The public is welcome.
